  1. But if you have your feet facing towards the grenade you have a better chance of getting hit in the nuts and bleeding out.

  2. But in the experiment the explosion occurs underwater. In the hypothetical situation you sketch the grenade being on land. Does the grenade still transfer enough energy to the water to kill you, when detonated at the side of the pool?
