Layered Ham & Cheese Potato Bake

Here is what you’ll need!

Potato Lasagna
Serves 4-5

5 potatoes, peeled
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
8-10 slices ham
7-8 slices mozzarella cheese
5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
¼ cup parsley, chopped
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup heavy cream
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C.
Slice the peeled potatoes into ½ centimeter slices.
Season the potatoes with salt and pepper, tossing them to make sure they’re coated evenly.
Press a layer of potatoes evenly into the bottom of a greased, square baking pan.
Place half of the ham slices evenly on top of the potatoes, followed by half of the sliced cheese.
Follow with another layer of potatoes, then the remaining ham and sliced cheese.
Sprinkle the bacon and parsley evenly on top of the sliced cheese, and place one final layer of potatoes on top.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the potatoes, then press it into an even layer.
In a small bowl, mix the heavy cream and eggs. Pour on top of the shredded cheese.
Bake for about 40 minutes, until the cheese is a deep golden brown.
Cool slightly, slice, then serve!

  1. Was disappointed with the outcome as the potatoes were still uncooked despite parboiling…should I have used a specific type of potato?

  2. This dish is enjoyable. I would suggest slicing the potatoes a bit thinner to help further more tenderize potatoes given the cooking process. overall, I would suggest this to anyone that likes indulging into thing like this. So filling.

  3. every tasty recipe: cheese here and cheese there, then add a lot of creams. not complaining though.

  4. I did this recipe exactly and the potatoes are hard and uncooked. And the milk/egg mixture is completely liquidy. really disappointed.

  5. I'm sorry but you people at Tasty have really let me down. Because this recipe simply doesn't work. Whatever you did in your video is not consistent with the recipe you provided. You deceived your audience thinking it would probably work the way you showed it working, but it doesn't. You proved to all of us that you'll sacrifice your integrity for the sake of getting a video out on time.

  6. I made this a couple of times and the hubby loved it. I used fresh mozzarella though, not sliced or processed or shredded. It makes a HUGE difference in taste and you have those strings of cheese you get when you pull a slice of just-out-of-the-oven pizza apart….yeah, its that good, too.
I left off the parsley only because I didnt have any on hand and i used bacon bits in the place of bacon. Helps when you dont feel much like cooking bacon in an already hot kitchen.
Thanks for this recipe…one of my husband's favorite dishes.

  7. yum! fab idea! i will make for tea tomorrow with homemade crunchy side salad with mayo😆

  8. This is delicious. I've made a few time with some changes. I sauteed the potatoes beforehand and seasoned them. Also I used provolone for the bottom layers and only mozzarella on top.
