  2. The first time I ever made this bread I didn't own a dutch oven, so I used the crock out of my crock pot. This is the same recipe I've used and it's the best bread I've ever tasted!

  6. I am a dutchy, and I have a braadpan (what you call a dutch oven). But I never used it in my oven to make bread. I usually bake the bread just on an oven plate. I am exited to try it and see if it tastes better than the normal dutch way (without a pan and a lid).

  11. I got all the ingredients and will try this tomorrow. I don't have a Dutch oven so I will try it in my crockpot. Should I cover it with aluminum foil for 30 minutes and then take it off and bake it for another 15?

My whole family and I absolutely love crusty bread and we can not buy it anywhere here….I was so happy to see your video. I have also now made variations using white flour, whole wheat flour and even Rye flour and they all came out absolutely gorgeous! thank so much Sophia for sharing this great recipe. It's delicious, and you are so right about the smell….my whole kitchen and living room smells of fresh bread.

Years ago I was in the North of France where you are from and I got the most delicious salt and or sweet crรชpes. Could be possible for you to make them? Thanks a lot S and be well.

  15. Maybe it's me but I always read that yeast and salt shouldn't be put in like that because it kills the yeast. First salt then flower and than yeast and then mix it…that's the way I learned it .
