Smart Choices, the Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Schools is a Queensland Government initiative to improve the nutritional value of food and drinks supplied to students in Queensland schools.
Paul and Blair are two high school teachers who have a passion for cooking healthy food. They will share with you some tips for promoting vegetable consumption with a recipe for savoury zucchini muffins. This recipe could be used during events such as Fruit and Vegetable Month or National Nutrition Week.
Remember, food safety must always be a priority when food is supplied in your school community. The Queensland Department of Health has a variety of fact sheets with detailed information on food safety. Topics include cross contamination, food borne illness and egg safety for food businesses.
